    scaling viewports

    hi,

i just purchased autocad 2013 and am trying to set it up. i created a drawing in model space and set the units to milometers. i then wanted to set this up in paperspace to print out to scale. i set up the viewport and set it to 1:100. at this scale the drawing should have fit quite well on an a4 sheet. but instead it shrunk the drawing down very small as if the scaling was not correct. i am not sure what has happened but i guess i have something wrong with the scaling of the viewport?

can anyone help? i need to get this drawing done asap, eek!

    many thanks

milometers are to hard for ACAD

You hav to draw the Paper inside the Layouttab in mm, too.

Your title block and border go in your layout at a 1:1 scale. The viewport is the only object that has a scale assigned to it. When you plot you do so at a 1:1 (1 unit = 1mm) scale. AutoCAD will automatically take care of the scaling your viewport objects correctly.

As you are using metric you may find these helpful-

    http://www.cadeverything.com/help/sh...WING-TEMPLATES

There is a full set of metric drawing templates there to download.
You could use them or just take a look at how the viewports have been set up in paper space.
Im intelligent enough to know that I dont know everything; but I'll tell you all about it anyway.
