    fillet not working

    Ok here is a random question. im using 09 autocad and my fillet command is not working. also the chamfer. when i type in "f" it says fillet is an unknown command.

    anyone ever seen this before?

    Yes ;we have seen this before, it is usually because the lines are not on the same Z-cordinates and you need to get then back into the same plane as each other before you can chamfer or fillet them.

    If it were lines not on the same plane you'd get "Lines are non coplanar." not "unknown command".

    Do you get the same message if typing out the full "fillet" or ".fillet" (notice the period)

    Ok, I made sure i was in the top view and tried it, didnt work. then i tried ".fillet". It worked, pretty cool stuff. Thanks a lot.

    You're welcome, that was a random thought

    Apparently those commands got redefined to not function; the 'period' tell AutoCAD to use the base commands, not the redefined ones. I'd guess there are some lisp routines or 3rd party applications that caused this. Or some malfunction.
