I have a course ending project, involveing entering survey coordinates,for property lines and right of ways when I enter coordinates, they are way of the scaleinto the wold blue yonder. what am I doing wrong.

Did you set units to be "decimal" and angles to "surveyor". Are you entering lengths in feet or meters (hopefully not inches).
Usual format for entering a straight segment/property line, 113.67 feet long, is like:
From point: <select>
To point: @113.67<N34d47'33"
This endpoint may go off into the yonder depending on your view limits. Don't worry, it's not lost.
